The Arab Tribune says hold on.
According to the Tribune, not only does the town of Arab not have any businesses in the part of the town extending into Cullman County with its higher sales tax, even if it did the sales tax would be 11%, not 12%.
At 11%, that part of Arab would still makes the list of highest sales taxes communities in the U.S. (though, as mentioned, no businesses are there to charge the sales tax). Hayneville and the parts of Collinsville and Piedmont that are in Cherokee County also maintain Alabama’s presence on the list.
